Chamberi Station is a former metro station on Line 1 opened in 1919 as one of the first eight stations of the network. It was closed in 1996 due to modernization needs and now converted into a museum. You can see authentic platforms, historic footage, and learn about the development of Madrid’s metro system. It is known as the “ Ghost Station” because it was abandoned for decades but still visible from passing trains on Line 1.

It was closed in 1966 because its platforms were too short for modern trains. Today, it’s a beautifully preserved metro museum.
Chamberí Station is known as Madrid’s ghost station. Trains still pass by, but they no longer stop there.
It takes around 30 to 45 minutes to visit. It’s enough to explore the platform and exhibitions.
